World of Mums is now World of Mums and Dads

I think it was the night before baby’s first birthday when hubby and me had some time for ourselves and we just started talking about our first year as parents. He opened up and shared some of his thoughts and doubts… It was an eye-opening conversation and I enjoyed every minute of it. I had to realize that I had no idea what struggles he had been going through in the past year. It’s hard to admit, but as a new mum I was completely immersed in my own challenges and experiences, and I just blocked out most things that were happening outside of my mummy bubble.

As he was talking, I felt that a whole new world was opening up for me. Probably he told me the same or almost the same things throughout this one year, but somehow it was that moment, that evening when everything clicked and I could really feel for him.

Osho says in his famous quote:

“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new."

I learned that evening that the very same is true for the father. It was that night when I decided, I want to know more about dads and self-care in their parenthood journey. That is why I’ve changed the title of the interview series to World of Mums and Dads. I am truly looking forward to meeting some incredible dads and bringing their wisdom here.
